NVR(Video processing done on the camera and digital footage sent via Internet) vs. DVR(Video output is analog and requires a DVR system to actually view the footage)
Traditional Cameras that come with a DVR that you install locally like HKVision or CPPLus that cost a lot due to the included DVR with HDD and lots of cables - seems like a better choice for hassle-free experience.
Cons of NVR and where DVR is better:
Their cloud plans are so high that you will end up using local storage which is on the camera and anyone can just steal the camera or even just the SD card and you will never know who was there.
You can use a HUB(SD-Card) or a full NVR Video Recorder
The use SD Cards which has limited life cycle compared to a HDD which if kept properly can last very long, so you have to keep replacing SD Card.
Many won't work without an internet connection so if you don't have a broadband always connecting to a mobile hotspot to check it is something you will laughed at for.
Pros of NVR over DVR:
Easy to setup, no one else needed. Some requires drilling holes but you can just put them somewhere so very easy to move around with.
Very cheaap for individual units but overall when adding a lot of cameras, the DVR ones become cheapers
Better quality cameras with a lot of features compared to the local ones. Just the picture quality is a lot better on these caaaemras.
Infrared is unusable in most places due to insects.
Infrared cameras work by emitting red light which the insects and mosquitoes love. So instead of using the infrared camera just light up the area with a light and use the cameras normally.
Do you want to scare thieves away or catch them sneakily?
TODO.
