It is very common now-a-days to pair an expensive GPU with a low powered CPU and it's fine for most games but a powerful CPUs also is helpful, of course with work(local AI, UE5 Game Development) but also in gaming like: wide variety of games, Emulation, MOBAs, eSports games, MMOs, CPU is still a big deal.[4]
Although the CPU gives high frame rates, frame skipping and stuttering are severe[4]
Cautions: VVI before you buy
Included Adapter of 400-fu***ing-watts is too fu**ing big to fu**ing carry around comfortably. You can call it a desktop replacement instead.
Some units have a CPU that performs a bit lower(5%) and reaches 100°C. While this is not a defect with the CPU, just know when swapping motherboards or when getting a new unit, you might get a unit with 5% lower performance and one that heats more than other CPUs and you can't just change thermal paste to get rid of it.[2]
DON'T GET THIS IF YOU ARE NOT READY TO MANUALLY TUNE THE CPU. This is a very high performing CPU and putting it in a laptop is great but it requires a lot of
9955HX3D has a very high core temperature while gaming which affects longevity so apart disabling one set of CCDs and adjusting PBO is crucial to keep the temperatures in check. [2][4] Check after you buy section below to know how.
Included SSD's thermal pad doesn't stick to the heatsink and it heats up a lot. You WILL NEED TO INSTALL THERMAL PADS on SSD to make them make contact to keep them cool.

Pros/Cons
Pros
100% DCI-P3 Display so great for designers as long as color calibration is done every few months(OLED's issues).
Gaming with out of the box settings(nothing changed) and compared with the Legion 275HX with the same exact specs apart from the CPU
However, there are a few AAA games like Baldur's Gate 3, Stellar Blade which get as much as 50% higher frame rate due to being both CPU AND GPU bound even though they are AAA.
GPU Heavy Games, still better than Intel somewhat:
In GPU heavy games, the frame rates aren't higher than 275HX. It's in the +5-10% margin and at lower frame rates, it's barely noticable.
And in these games there were some improvements, not as much as 50 but yeah measurable: , Tomb Raider, Forza Horizon 5, Resident Evil 4, Doom, Monster Hunter Wilds, The Last of Us, The Hungry Lamb Travelling int he Late Ming Dyansty, Kingdom Come Deliverance, COD, Dying Light, Silent Hill.
In CPU Heavy game like eSports and MMOs, FPS is mostly double of the 275HX(Yes, double or even triple in some case) except from the horribly optimized Borderlands 4 which is better on Intel but if you want to play Borderlands 4, you should question your life's choices that led you to this point.
CPU: Workloads tasks are just better here compared to the 275HX
