Budget to me means under Rs.100k or 1 lakh as we say but anything above 1 lakh, even close to it I start people to push towards the premium range (The reason I didn't recommend LOQ above 1 lakh even with specs matching that of 1.5 lakhs and I was right not to recommend it as even the lower specification LOQs of Intel HX series started dying due to missing crucial features like shutting off when temps are high or having proper air-flow (LOQ has now been marred with the proposterous LOQ Essential that doens't even deserve the name of LOQ).
Now, laptop companies in India since 2022 have been trying to push people to buy better specification laptops in budget chassis. I think one of the early example of this was Acer's Helios Predator and Predator Neo where the difference between the Neo and non-Neo was pretty significant when it came to build quality and what they did was started giving lower quality specs on the Neo(budget one) than the normal one.
Why Companies launch disguises?
Now, one might wonder, why do companies do that and one of the reason I think is simply that youtube laptop reviews are pretty significant these days. People just search for a laptop review and even youtubers do their best to hide the exact specs or the model of the laptop in the title or description so that people would just assume that this is almost the same laptop. This is the reason why so many Acer Nitro V(a laptop I despise for lying to customers) sold in the first place. People thought this is just another Nitro Series laptop which were known for their high performance to money ratio. Even I recommended the Nitro series before the Nitro V came around.
This is also the reason Intel LOQ sold so much starting with the first LOQ variant, the non HX version. The AMD LOQ 7840HS/7640HS was an excellent laptop. After a while Lenovo stopped selling the AMD variant and people were forced to buy the Intel more expensive less powerful and less battery efficient LOQ. Then with the launch of the LOQ next year, they removed the side fans, lowered the quality by a lot and now they are releasing LOQ essential that is even more pathetic. People have heard good things about LOQ from the first variant and just assume all the other variants were good.
