Never ever ever format unless you're willing to let go of HD/UHD high quality streaming on many apps. Most TVs including with the terrible Linux OS comes with Widevine DRM licensed installed on them and formatting them will get rid of this license and you won't be able to play any streaming apps on high quality at all.
