Check offline market for Android Sticks from trustworthy manufacturers first

Even if they are not available online, they might be available offline as Madhur showed in March 2026.

I read your website blog on tv stick and boxes and that how there were no good ones anymore.
But i explored a bit and was able to find a seller who was selling amazon fire stick gen 3 Hd in good condition (like stick used but remote brand new) , other accessories brand new etc for 1800 ruppes

So i took the plunge and got it
Loaded it with smarttube (youtube frontend mod like re■■■■ed for tvs) and stremio and i am having a blast I missed tv.

The seller had a projector when i tested the stick at his home
He still has around 2 more of them?
He also had lot of Bluetooth audio stuff but i wasn't interested in that
Everyone seems to have abandoned all custom rom development for many years now. Buying these devices will be very risky now.
~~There is an option to get cheap android boxes with Amlogic Chips and install Aidan ROM on it but it's hard to find android boxes with supported chips that are affordable.~~
Note: If you have tobuy these non-branded cheap Android boxes atleast stick to the chips supported by Aidan ROm.
Finding a source for India
- In India, there used to be good TV Boxes and sticks like the Original MI 4K TV Box for ₹4k only or the Mi TV Stick for ₹2k or the Realme 4K TV stick for ₹2k but they simply don't exist anymore, I think mainly because these companies started selling TVs and realized if they sell TV Boxes someone might make a good old non-android TV usable instead of just buying their new TVs.
- Now importing the above from outside India is very very very expensive, often so much so that it makes no sense atleast from random-ass websites like ubuy.
- Importing from Alibaba is viable however the malware risks are still there as you can't just format it with your own ROM. For now I am looking into Android boxes supported by Linege OS but formatting them will remove Widevine certifcation so no more Streaming apps in HD/4k.~~Importing from Alibaba is also very expensive and sometimes the packages gets stolen or they are selling subscription in name of boxes.~~
- Amazon India doesn't have a good solid seller so eveyrone keeps trying to sell some awful shit under the good name so you are not sure what you will even get.

The reason for above and installing a custom OS like Aidan ROM is that many of these boxes come with malware and spyware who might steal your account information or worse, as shown in proof here and here.The only reason they can be considered is if you intend to run them completely offline and the USB/SD you plug into them stays in them, or, you completely format everything on it, including the bootloader, however, the newer generations are not interersted in learning about tech at a deeper level so this has mostly died out and you might brick you device if you try to do anything of those sorts.
